My name is Leidy and this is my article about creating something new from recycled materials that I had at home. We had already learnt in our previous workshops how to do craft projects, and also how to use my best creativity and personal imagination; I am already a very creative person.

The project consists of selecting a recycled material (cardboard, plastic, glass). I chose glass bottles and other materials I already had at home. The following materials were used:

  • Recycled glass bottles
  • Glitter
  • Paints
  • Water
  • Spray paints
  • Cello tape
  • Paint brushes
  • Cork stopper

UNIVERSE EFFECT RECYCLED GLASS BOTTLE

Procedure

Paint the bottom of the bottle black and let it air dry for about 10 minutes. Then, paint it another colour with spray paint, creating a universe effect with splatters of white; I also added glitter. If necessary, improve it with paint brushes, or other colours until you have the desired effect, or you have reached you level of creativity. You can put LED lights in it, stones or shells from the sea, or whatever you have at home. Lastly, put a cork stopper in the bottle.

MULTICOLOURED EFFECT RECYCLED BOTTLE

Procedure

In this recycling project I did almost the same procedure as my previous one. I also used another glass bottle but this time, I painted the bottom light blue. After painting the bottle, I left it to air dry for approximately 10 minutes. Afterwards, I put some cello tape on the bottle, giving it a circular shape, and then I painted it with another colour. I removed the cello tape and added more colours such as light blue, green, black, gold, purple and orange. Finally, I left it to dry.

Finally, I wrote my recycling article, including all the work and materials involved in previous workshops and from home. My article is about how to make universe and multicoloured effect bottles, explaining a series of step-by-step instructions. I also included pictures of the bottles I made at home.

These decorations are perfect for your bedroom, living room, bathroom, hall in your office at work.
